The Indian Man Who Has Eaten Bricks for 20 Years — And Somehow Survived

September 1, 2026 4 Min Read
0

So What Does a Brick Taste Like to Him?

That’s the part most people will probably never understand. To almost everyone else, a brick is something you build a house with. For Hunagundi, it reportedly became something he ate.

The behavior began when he was a child, survived into adulthood and eventually became the unusual characteristic that made him famous far beyond his home in Karnataka.

And perhaps that’s what makes the story so fascinating. Not simply the fact that a human being can bite a brick, but the fact that somewhere along the way, his brain apparently learned to treat something completely inedible as something worth craving.

After 20 years, the question isn’t simply, “How can he eat bricks?”

It’s, “How did eating bricks become normal to him in the first place?”

And that’s a question that makes this bizarre story considerably more interesting than a simple viral video of a man biting a wall.
